Do not buy this if you need a named-board paper
If a college, council, or clinic asked for an Ofqual-regulated award, do not pay for the first cheap briefing on this site. I mean that as a buying instruction, not a mood. The cheap tile and the named-board exam share a logo and a checkout button. They do not share a paper.
Skip it, too, if you need a change-of-mind refund on a classroom seat, or if you are about to buy a year-long library and assume the exam seats sit inside it. Those buyers leave this till with the wrong end of the stick. I reopened lead-academy.org on 27 September 2026 and still saw the same trap: one shopfront, three receipts, sale banners treating them as flavours of the same product.
Rewind — the invoice is from a business-centre unit
Back up. The contracting name is Global Education Explore Ltd trading as Lead Academy. Companies House still lists company 12277559, incorporated 23 October 2019, active. The registered office is Office Mr-12, Basepoint Business Centre, Rivermead Drive, Westlea, Swindon, SN5 7EX — a business-centre unit, not a lecture hall. The contact page also prints a London desk at Bank Studio, 23 Park Royal Road, NW10 7JH. Support is info@lead-academy.org, sales 0300 124 5585, support 020 3880 8347.
I once walked a Basepoint corridor for a different errand — a landlord wanted a caretaker’s fire-safety PDF before a Monday inspection — and every door looked like every other door. Lead Academy’s invoice comes from that kind of address. Fine for an e-learning shop. Misleading if you pictured a campus registry. Put the company name on the supplier form, not a vague college line.
The till takes three different receipts
The cheap row is a short workplace briefing. Health-and-safety titles sat around thirty pounds on the category page I loaded, often struck through from about sixty. Access is usually a year. The test is a multiple-choice pass. That is a briefing you can show a manager. It is not a licence, and it is not an awarding-body seat.
The middle row is a library. Limitless Learning is the year pass I actually opened: marketing sat near ninety-five pounds for twelve months, with a lifetime tier near one hundred seventy-nine, while the terms still print ninety-nine pounds and a library of seven hundred-plus titles. The membership page says one thousand-plus. I could not make those two counts agree. Clause 7.2 matters more than the count. Premium titles, Ofqual-regulated courses, and face-to-face training sit outside the pass.
The expensive row is live or regulated. Signature BSL is the one I will name, because it is the easiest product on this site to confuse with a cheap video. Level 1 sat around five hundred and fifty pounds; higher levels climb, then go four-figure. Each page I opened described thirty-three weeks including exams, two Zoom hours a week, and a six-part instalment offer. A diary, not a binge. Classroom seats and Ofqual exam routes live on this same floor and keep their own refund rules. And that is the whole problem: one button, three contracts.
What the money actually looks like
I am not going to dump the catalogue. Prices move, and the terms already warn they can move again. Treat these as bands I saw on 27 September 2026, written in words so a finance inbox can read them without a screenshot.
- Short CPD briefings: often about thirty pounds, sometimes a little over, usually one year on the materials and a multiple-choice pass around seventy-five percent on the pages I opened
- Limitless Learning: marketing near ninety-five pounds for a year or about one hundred seventy-nine for lifetime; terms still print ninety-nine pounds; the year is a library, not the accredited file
- A five-course CPD pack still appears in the terms at seventy-five pounds; Ofqual titles and some premium titles sit outside that deal
- Signature BSL: Level 1 around five hundred and fifty pounds, then a step up, then a four-figure Level 3; six instalments advertised on those pages
- Classroom and Ofqual exam seats: commonly the mid-hundreds on the homepage tiles I loaded; instalments are written for courses advertised at one hundred and fifty pounds or above
- Certificate extras: a CPD PDF is sometimes included and sometimes about twelve pounds; print around thirty-five pounds; a Quality Licence Scheme endorsement around sixty-five pounds per course where that scheme is offered; UK print shipping listed as free; international about thirty pounds or forty by courier
Buy it if you already know which paper your manager will accept
This cart is useful if someone asked for a short, verifiable CPD briefing and you can show a PDF. It is also useful if you want Signature BSL and can keep a weekday afternoon Zoom slot for thirty-three weeks. Invoice payment exists; the FAQs I read send that request to info@lead-academy.org. Instalments exist, but only on courses advertised at one hundred and fifty pounds or above, and certificates wait until every instalment clears.
Age is almost unpublished for single CPD titles. The membership FAQ does draw a line: you must be at least sixteen to take Limitless Learning. A device and a stable connection are the only entry rules on the short-course pages I read. Login details are promised by email within twenty-four hours, with a reminder to check junk. I never received that email in this check, because I did not complete a live card payment. That gap stays unpublished. I will not paper over it.
Walk away if any of this is you
- A college, council, or clinic asked for an Ofqual-regulated award and you are staring at a one-hour multiple-choice briefing
- You want Limitless Learning to cover Functional Skills, ESOL, other Ofqual titles, premium catalogue items, or face-to-face training — those sit outside the pass
- You need a change-of-mind refund on a classroom seat; classroom bookings are non-refundable, with one postpone if you email three full working days ahead
- You think a Quality Licence Scheme endorsement is a national qualification number; the scheme pages are honest that it is not Ofqual regulation
- You cannot keep a weekday Zoom diary for thirty-three weeks and you were about to buy Signature BSL anyway
- You plan to binge more than twenty percent of a course, or more than two CPD titles on a membership, inside the cooling-off window and still want the money back
> I would pay this shop for a briefing I already know my manager will accept, or for a Signature year I can actually attend. I would not pay it because the logo looks like a campus. > > — Noah Bennett
Open the live Lead Academy cart Check the course type, the sale figure, and the certificate line on lead-academy.org before you pay. Confirm whether the tile is a CPD briefing, a year library, Signature BSL, or an Ofqual exam seat.
How the buy actually works
You pick a tile, you pay, you wait for a login. Card checkout is the default. I could not capture a live card descriptor, so the statement text is unpublished. If a finance team will not accept a consumer checkout, ask for a purchase-order invoice before you pay.
Payment plans are advertised three ways on the same site. The homepage promises three instalments and, a line later, four. Signature BSL offered six. Terms limit the plan to courses at one hundred and fifty pounds or above and block exam booking and classroom attendance until the balance is clear. A thirty-pound briefing should not expect a split cart.
Access length is not one number. Short CPD pages promise one year. Limitless Learning is twelve months or a lifetime tier; cancel the year pass and completed courses hang on for twelve months from the last payment. Signature BSL is a calendar: two hours a week for thirty-three weeks. Remote exam kit lists are long. I did not sit that exam, so I will not pretend I watched an invigilator accept a room sweep.
The certificate is a second checkout
Clause 4.1 is the sentence most shoppers miss. You order the certificate after you pass. It is not posted automatically. Some short CPD pages include an accredited PDF and charge about thirty-five pounds to print it. Other tiles charge about twelve pounds for the PDF. The year pass buys the library, not the accredited file. A completion PDF exists if you write to support. The contract bills accreditation separately.
Timing is printed: CPD PDF in twenty-four hours, hard-copy CPD in five to seven business days, Quality Licence Scheme in seven to nine. I could not verify those windows from a real envelope, or a VAT number on a live receipt. Treat the VAT line as unpublished until your own invoice shows it.
Order the paper after you pass
- Finish the modules, sit the test, and wait for a pass before you order anything with a crest on it
- Read the course page for three different files: a free or paid CPD PDF, a printed CPD, and a Quality Licence Scheme endorsement where that scheme is offered
- Add print shipping if you live outside the UK; the pages I opened listed about thirty pounds standard or forty by courier, with UK print shipping listed as free
- On a membership or the five-course pack, budget the accreditation charge again; the terms say those deals are access, not the accredited certificate
- If you used instalments, wait until every payment has cleared; the terms withhold certificates until the plan is finished
- Student ID cards, transcripts, and enrolment letters are listed as non-refundable once ordered
Fourteen days, then the trapdoors
The homepage still shouts a fourteen-day money-back line. The contract is pickier. You get fourteen calendar days from purchase under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, which the page dates as 2020. Finish more than twenty percent, or collect the certificate, and the refund is gone. Certificates, transcripts, enrolment letters, and student ID orders are excluded in every case. Cancel at info@lead-academy.org. Do not binge the vault on day one if you still want that window.
Membership uses a different kill switch. Finish more than two CPD courses and the fourteen days stop helping you. Bundle rules use the twenty-percent test on any course in the pack. Ofqual Functional Skills and ESOL add a third: complete the initial or diagnostic assessment and that refund is gone. Classroom seats never enter the window. Some exam marketing pages still say fourteen days, no questions asked. Read the cancellation clause before you click the first diagnostic. The banner is not the contract.
Cancelling a membership later is simpler than getting money back. The FAQ says you cancel in the account or through support. Completed courses stay for twelve months from the most recent payment. Renewal is yearly. I could not verify the cancel-button path because I did not create a paid account.
What I could not verify from a public cart
Library size is a mess. Membership marketing says one thousand-plus courses. The terms say seven hundred-plus. The about page claims two thousand five hundred-plus. I have no warehouse count. Partner names appear on the about page. I cannot confirm a contract with each logo. Course content can change without notice. Already-paid orders keep their price.
Liability for ordinary losses is capped at the course price. A dropped home connection mid-exam is your problem. Intellectual property stays with the training providers, and sharing a login can close the account. Privacy copy points at the Data Protection Act 2018. That is the paragraph that applies if you pay by card.
Checkout questions I still had after reading the terms
What name will show on my card statement?
The contracting name in the terms is Global Education Explore Ltd trading as Lead Academy. I could not capture a live card descriptor, so the statement text is unpublished. If a finance team needs a supplier record, use company 12277559 and the Swindon office. Ask info@lead-academy.org for a purchase-order invoice before you pay.
Does the year pass include regulated exams and classroom seats?
No. Clause 7.2 and the membership FAQ exclude premium courses, Ofqual-regulated courses, and face-to-face training. Functional Skills exam seats, Signature BSL awards, and classroom training sit outside that pass. The year is a CPD library. If your real target is one of those excluded tiles, buy that tile.
The tile said the certificate was free. Why is there another fee?
Because “certificate” means three different files. Some CPD pages include the accredited PDF and charge about thirty-five pounds to print it. Other packs charge about twelve pounds for the PDF. Membership includes a completion PDF through support and still bills accreditation. A Quality Licence Scheme endorsement, where it is offered, sat around sixty-five pounds per course.
Can I cancel a Signature BSL Zoom seat if Thursday afternoons collapse?
Treat it as a classroom-style booking unless support writes otherwise. Classroom bookings are non-refundable, with one postpone if you give three full working days’ notice to info@lead-academy.org. The BSL pages advertise live Zoom, official exams, and a thirty-three-week span. I did not find a separate BSL withdrawal clause. Email before you assume the first live hour is still inside a cooling-off window.
What if I start a Functional Skills diagnostic and then want out?
The cancellation clause says an Ofqual Functional Skills, ESOL, or similar regulated enrolment loses its refund once you complete the initial or diagnostic assessment. The marketing page still advertises fourteen days. The diagnostic is the trapdoor. After the official exam is booked with the awarding body, that exam fee is also closed. Alternative dates can carry extra charges; those questions go to exams@lead-academy.org.
Is the thirty-pound health briefing plus VAT at checkout?
One title in that cheap row printed “Ex. VAT” next to about thirty pounds when I loaded the category. Neighbouring tiles did not repeat that mark. I could not complete a card payment, so I cannot tell you whether VAT is added on the last screen. If you are buying for a company, ask for an invoice and a VAT line before you approve the spend.
How long do I keep the videos after I pass?
Single CPD titles print one year of access. Limitless Learning is twelve months or lifetime, then a twelve-month tail on completed courses after your last payment if you cancel the year pass. I could not test whether a cancelled lifetime account still opens old modules. Save your certificate files outside the portal. Portals change.
If you can name the receipt, the rest is arithmetic
Lead Academy is a high-volume UK e-learning checkout with a real company number, a real Swindon office, and a terms page that is more useful than the sale banners. Use it for a short briefing you will finish this month, a year library you will treat as CPD, or a Signature year you can actually attend. Do not use it as a shortcut to a regulated title you did not buy. Recheck the live price on the day you pay.
Match the live tile to the receipt you actually need Open the official catalogue, match the course to a CPD briefing, Limitless Learning, Signature BSL, or an Ofqual seat, and read the certificate and refund lines on that page.
